Janet Marie Dolan

Janet M. (Wagner) Dolan, 74, died February 8, 2016, in her Exeter Township residence.

Her husband, Joseph E. Dolan, died June 14, 2012; they were married on December 29, 1962.

Born in Reading she was a daughter of the late Robert P. and Helen V. (Katarzynski) Wagner .

She was a member of the first graduating class from St. Catharine's Parochial School. In 1959 she graduated from Central Catholic High School and was a 1962 graduate of the St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing.

Janet was a registered nurse for St. Joseph's Hospital and later was a private duty nurse. She was also a volunteer for eleven years as a hospice nurse.

Janet was a member of St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.

She enjoyed regularly playing dominoes with her friends and games with her grandchildren. She was a loving mother and the perfect grandmother who spoiled her grandchildren with much love and treats.

Survivors include six children, Peter J., husband of Kristin L. (Light) Dolan, Munich, Germany; Monica A. (Dolan), wife of Stephen J. Rush, Cumru Township; Maureen S. Dolan, residing with Karen A. McGavin, Alsace Township; Margaret A. (Dolan), wife of Hemant Virkar, Darnestown, Maryland; James P., husband of Deidre (Bennett) Dolan, Renton, Washington and Patrick J., husband of Kimberly A. (Green) Dolan, Reading. There are ten grandchildren, Colleen, Ryan, Emily, Michael, Claire, Alisa, Sophia, Olivia, Mairéad and Liam; and three sisters, Barbara J. Crater, Califon, NJ; Theresa, wife of Bruce Kennedy, Brass Lake, CA; and Cathy H., wife of Robert Alena, Bernville, PA. RoseMarie A. (Gidaro) Dolan (mother of Ryan and Michael) of Princeton Junction, New Jersey also survives her.

She was predeceased by one sister, Nancy Wagner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 12 p.m. in St. Catharine of Siena R.C. Church, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading, PA 19606. A viewing will be held Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the church. Entombment will be private in Gethsemane Mausoleum.
