Janet K. Holmes

Janet K. Holmes, 75, passed away on May 22, 2021, in her Ephrata residence.

She was the loving wife of W. Michael Holmes; they were married on May 4, 1968, recently celebrating 53 years of marriage.

Born in West Reading, she was a daughter of the late Wilburn H. and Anna K. (Gruber) Browning.

A graduate of Reading High School in 1963, Janet went on to work at various school districts including Wilson and Cocalico. A long-time bus driver, Janet also served as an aide for handicapped children, was a cafeteria cashier and held numerous other positions. She enjoyed her work and the children she was able to assist.

She looked forward to her Sunday antiquing with her husband, valued her relationships with her friends, and loved to be with her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Michael S. Holmes, Cherry Hill, NJ and Brad E., husband of Susan Holmes, Mohnton; her sister, Donna J., widow of Robert Eveland, Bern Twp.; and three grandchildren: Ella, Braden, and Camryn.

A visitation will be held Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Condolences may be expressed at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
