Janet M. Hill

Janet Mae (Gernert) Hill, 73, of 33 Seminary Ave., Hyde Park died September 2nd in Reading Hospital and Medical Center at 1:49 a.m. where she had been a patient since Sunday.

She was married July 3, 1929 to Edward Earl Hill.

Born in Reading, Pa she was a daughter of the late Herbert S. and A. Elizabeth (Brown) Gernert.

Hill was a 1947 graduate of Reading High School.

She was employed as a laboratory technician at Polymer Plastics Corporation, Reading for ten years until her retirement.

Hill was a member of Alsace Lutheran Church, Hyde Park.

Hill enjoyed traveling and was an avid dog lover.

She is also survived by a son; Douglas E. Hill husband of Janet L. of Cody, Wyoming and a daughter; Wenda A. (Hill) wife of Robert J. Wilson of Annville, Lebanon County.

Other survivors include a brother, Herbert S. Gernert husband of Rosemary of Mount Penn, and a sister, Anna Louise (Gernert) wife of David Kendig of Elysburg, Columbia County.

Hill is also survived by five grandchildren. Amy and Andrew Hill of Missoula, Montana, Derek and Ryan Hill of Cody, Wyoming and James Wilson of Annville, Lebanon County. She is also survived by a great granddaughter, Rhianna Hill of Missoula, Montana.

Graveside services will be Thursday September 5th at 11:00 a.m. in Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Humane Society 1801 North 11th Street, Reading, Pa 19604. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
