Janet L. Harakal

Janet L. (Beane) Harakal, 83, of Reading, died October 20, 2015 at Berkshire Center.

She was the wife of the late Robert E. Bossler who died in 1974 and the late Lawrence J. Harakal who died April, 2008.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Harold M. and Frances E. (Jachle) Beane.

Janet was a 1949 graduate of Reading High School.

She was formerly a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church then transferred her membership to Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing.

Janet started working as a clerk, then an executive secretary, before working her way up to the purchasing department, then the senior account assistant at Keystone Wholesale Grocers, Reading, PA which became United Associates Grocers and then became AWI Associate Wholesalers, Inc., from 1950 through 1997. After retiring in 1997 Janet continued to work part time until 2009.

She enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family.

Janet is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces , great nephews, stepchildren, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Harold, Robert and Richard Beane.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
