Janet Gallagher

Janet M. (Pontious) Gallagher, 88, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2024 at Reading Hospital. She was the widow of William H. Gallagher. They shared almost 67 years together before his passing in 2022.

Born in Penfield, PA, Janet was the daughter of the late George M. And Lydia M. (McLaughlin) Potious. She graduated from Williamsport High School, and worked as a dental assistant for 20 years. Janet loved animals, especially dogs. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband.

Those cherishing Janet's memory are her children, Stephen J. Gallagher, husband of Linda, and Karen A. Richards, wife of Andrew; her grandchildren: Lindsey, William, Colin and Bailey; as well as her great granddaughter, Daisy. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her sisters, Patricia Chambers, and Dawn Barrett.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 12 p.m at Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611. Family and Friends may gather from 11:30 a.m. until the beginning of the service.
