Janet C. Clemmer

Janet C. "Betty" Clemmer, 88, of Shillington, went to be with the Lord on Saturday June 24, 2023, during her stay at the Reading Hospital.

Born at home in Washington Township, she was a daughter of the late Melvin H. and Amanda (nee Conrad) Clemmer. She was a sister of the late Anna Giardillo.

Janet was a graduate of Reading Hospital School of Nursing and Albright College where she received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

Janet was employed by Dr. John Waring, Pottstown, as a Register Nurse. Later she worked for the Bank of Pennsylvania / now M&T for approx 20 years. She lived a selfless life and touched the hearts of each and every person she met. She was a kind and compassionate woman with a heart of gold. Janet was a relentlessly hard worker and took great pride in volunteering and giving back to others as she worked on the Reading Literacy Council.

Faith was most important to Janet. She was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Reading, where she loved singing in the church choir and served on the Trinity Vesture Board. Janet also sang in the Reading Choral Society, and was an active board member of the Reading Chorial Society and the Reading Music Club. She also served as a dedicated council member and treasurer who kept excellent books for the Mews of Wyomissing Homeowners Association for over 25 years.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Randy Stoyer for the compassionate care, dedication and love he showed her over the years.

A Celebration of Life Services for Janet will be a part of Trinity Lutheran Church Services on Sunday July 16, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at 527 Washington St., Reading, PA 19601. Inurnment will follow in the church Columbarium. Contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church at the above address. Edward J.
