Janet F. Allison

Janet F. (Fenstermacher) Allison, 85, of Wyomissing, died February 11, 2008 in Manor Care, Sinking Spring.

Her husband, Bernard J. Allison died on January 27, 1999.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Clarence H. and Agnes Q. (Witmer) Fenstermacher.

Janet loved cats and doing counted cross stitch. She had a sense of humor and loved a good laugh.

Janet was a graduate of West Chester State Teachers College where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education in 1944.

She worked for fifteen years as a Ward Clerk in delivery at the Reading Hospital until retiring in 1988.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald C., husband of Lynn G. Allison, Lancaster and Kevin B., husband of Karen L. Allison, Mechanicsburg. There is one sister, Dorothy Q. (Fenstermacher) Weicksel, Lancaster. Seven grandchildren, Katherine, Steven, Jonathan, Jennifer, Deborah, Michael and Heather and five great-grandchildren also survive her. She was predeceased by one daughter, Jacqueline L. Carlson in 2005.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc.739 Penn Ave. West Reading, PA. 19611. Burial will be in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster. Friends may call one hour before the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, PA 19605.
