Jane E. Rhoades

Jane E. Rhoades, 97, formerly of Reading, died June 22, 2011 in Berks Heim.

Her husband, LeRoy P. Rhoades, died in October of 1978.

Born in Gilberton, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Jane (Stranix) Hinkle.

She was employed by the former Rachman Sewing Factory for over 20 years, retiring in 1975.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth J. Cardinal, Exeter Twp. Four grandchildren, Nicole, wife of Rocco Tenaglia, Philadelphia; Marguerite, wife of Leonard Leiby, Fleetwood; Peter Cardinal, FL; Jeannine, wife of Joseph Ambrosi, Exeter Township; six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren also survive her.

She was predeceased by her three siblings, Anna Melchiori, Harry Hinkle and Joe Hinkle.

Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in Aulenbach's Cemetery. Friends may call 12 to 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
