Jane Pendergast

Jane Pendergast, age 91, of Wyomissing, died at Blough Healthcare Center in Bethlehem on Sunday, February 12, 2012.

Born in Reading she was the daughter of Robert S. Loose, and Daisy Kehl Loose.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Eugene Pendergast in 1982. She is also predeceased by her son Peter Abbott Pendergast, and her brother Samuel Loose.

Jane graduated from Wells College as a Phi Beta Kappa. As a younger woman she was employed as a biology technician and in her later years as an assistant librarian at Albright College. She was involved extensively in volunteer work including over 30 years at the Reading Hospital Allergy Clinic. She was active on the Wyomissing school board, Parent Teachers Associations, and Rainbow Home.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Anne (Dolly), wife of David Dyer, of Bethlehem and her son, David E., husband of Margaret (McShane) Pendergast, Wyomissing. Her daughter-in-law, Janet Pendergast, Wyomissing, also survives her. There are six grandchildren, Peter William, Wyomissing, Barrie Jean, Ardmore, Kristen Jane, Downingtown, Jonathan Charles, West Reading, Amy Elizabeth, Norfolk, and Alexander Scott, Bethlehem. There are five great-grandchildren; Patrick, Owen, Abbott (Abby), William, and Kooper.

A private family service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church Chapel, Reading. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to Care Alternatives Hospice, 501 Office Center Dr., Suite 285, Ft.
