Jane L. Hix

Jane L. (Bause) Hix 65, Ephrata, died of natural causes Jan. 23 in Epharta Community Hospital, Lancaster County.

She was wife of Charles J. Hix, Sr..

Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Daniel E. and Frances E. (Bause) Hix.

Hix was employed as a medical assistant at Lancaster Orthopedic, retiring in 1991.

She was a 1958 graduate of Boyertown High School.

Hix was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Temple.

She is survived by two daughters; Kimberly A. (Gilde) Schearer, Temple; and Abigail L. (Gilde) Andrews of Muhlenberg Township. One step-son; Charles Hix, Burton, OH; four step-daughters; Kathleen Hix of Reading; Cynthia (Hix) Bangenstose; Cheryl (Hix) Thomas and Wendy Hix of Reading.

Other survivors include two brothers; Daniel Bause of Boyertown; David Bause of Pottstown; and one sister Nancy (Bause) Osterman of Boyertown.

There are also three grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 7:30 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township, Thursday at 11:00 am.
