Jane E. (Wagner) Brailer, 87, passed away November 21, 2016, in her residence at Elmcroft surrounded by her sister and nieces Carol and Patricia. Jane was born in Reading on December 12, 1928, a daughter of Marie E. (Focht) and Paul F. Wagner. She was the widow of Albert Brailer who died in 2006.
She was a 1947 graduate of Reading Catholic High School. She enlisted in the Women's Army Corp for nine years where she trained as a medic and was stationed in South Carolina and at West Point. After leaving the service she received her LPN certification from St. Joseph Hospital. She worked there as well as several nursing homes.
She enjoyed bingo, bowling and bus trips to the casinos. Jane was proficient at counted cross stitch and also made many beautiful quilted bed covers.
She is survived by her sister, Rosemary, wife of Stephen Koyste and many nieces and nephews. Jane was predeceased by six brothers, George, Robert, Richard, Donald, John and Paul. Also her twin sister, Jean Drobeck, Louise Good and Ruth Groff.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 26, at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, 925 Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Veteran helping Veterans, c/o Charles H. Steele, Inc., Post 622, P.O.
