Jane Sarah Brubaker

Jane Sarah Brubaker, 93, formerly of Wyomissing, passed peacefully in her sleep on December 6, 2024 at Berks Heim. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Florence (Eisenhard) Iobst. Jane was the loving wife of Dr. Robert Brubaker, OD, with whom she shared 25 years.

Jane was a 1949 graduate of Emmaus High School. She worked at Hollywood Cleaners until her retirement in 2004.

She was passionate about art, painting, and playing the piano, though she preferred to keep her talents private rather than showcase them to an audience. She loved beach getaways, particularly her time at The Windrift in Avalon, and found joy in listening to Neil Diamond's music.

In addition to her spouse, Jane is survived by her children, Michael Bortzel (Wanda), of New Holland, and Rene Shewalter (Will), of West Lawn. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Jessica (Jon), Jennifer, Tamara (Mike), Randi K. (Chris), and William, along with her great-grandchildren: Daniel, Jayvien, Jaicie, Malachi, Laila, Shaya, Scott Jr., Isalena, Addison, Malaysia, and Riley.

Jane was predeceased by her daughter, Denise Sweigart (Randy) and her siblings: Caroline, Bertram "Buddy", Gene, Zane, Sadie, and Bruce.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 11AM at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 2600 St Albans Dr, Reading, PA 19609.
