James B. Yatsko, 87, of Muhlenberg Township, formerly of Aldan, PA, died May 20, 2009.
He was the beloved husband of Mary Clare (Burke) Yatsko.
Born March 3, 1922 in Hazelton, Luzerne County, he was a son of the late John and Agnes (Gildea) Yatsko.
He was employed by Westinghouse Electric, Lester, PA, as a machine tool operator for 30 years, retiring in 1985.
James enjoyed reading, fishing, swimming and skiing. He was skilled in all aspects of the building trades.
He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, Muhlenberg Township.
James served in World War II in the U.S. Army-Airforce as an Airplane Armor Gunman who flew 26 Air Missions over Rhineland. He earned a Rifle Expert Aviation Badge, European Africa Middle Eastern Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Air Medal.
Surviving are three daughters, Patricia, wife of W. David Clark of Sterling, MA; Eileen, wife of Glenn Geoghegan of Ashburn, VA and Carolyn, wife of Carmen M. LaMacchia of Bloomsburg.
In addition, he is survived by his nine beloved grandchildren: Laura Geoghegan, Jessica Clark, Kelly Geoghegan, Jeffrey Geoghegan, James Clark, Janet Geoghegan, Carmen LaMacchia, Ryan Clark and Virginia LaMacchia.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
