James P. "Jim" Woods, 96, of Wernersville, passed away at Phoebe Berks on May 4, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of James P. Woods, Sr. and Edith (Gravenstine) Woods. James was the loving husband of Sandra Sue (Hart) Woods, with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.
Jim honorably served his nation by enlisting in the United States Army during World War II. He furthered his commitment to public service by becoming an officer with the Pennsylvania State Police. Following his tenure in law enforcement, Jim held the position of national sales manager at Morgan Corporation until his retirement in 1996.
Jim was stubborn yet always found a reason to laugh. He had a deep affection for animals, especially dogs, cats, and horses. In the past, Jim enjoyed boating and frequently navigated the waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
In addition to his spouse, who he lovingly referred to as "his precious", Jim is survived by his children: James P. Woods III (Alina), Eric Woods (Lyndsay), and Cynthia (Woods) Sneeden. He will be missed by his grandchildren: James Woods IV, Kyle Sneeden, Sean Sneeden, Caitlin Sneeden, Colin Woods, Sydney Woods, Ashley Robinson, Amber Shilling, Amanda Clark, and Chloe Kendall, and his great-grandchildren: Brooke, Adam, Harper, Haven, Cameron, Jackson, Grace, Braden, and Addison.
Jim was predeceased by his step-children, Nanci Fritz and Michael Kendall.
Services will be private. Jim will be laid to rest at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
