James Wagner

James Guy Wagner, 82, of Muhlenberg Township died July 29, 2014 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He was the husband of Gayle Cecelia (Harner) Wagner, whom he married October 18, 1958.

Born January 28, 1932 in Adamsdale, Schuylkill County, he was a son of the late John Guy and Laura (Frey) Wagner.

James was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute

He was employed as a tool and die maker with Textile Machine Works and Arrow International for 27 years. Subsequently, he was employed with Lucent Technologies for 15 years, retiring in 1997.

James was a member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, Muhlenberg Township.

He served in the U.S. Army.

James enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He also loved to work with his hands.

He, along with his family and grandchildren enjoyed their cabin in Northumberland County.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his two sons: James G., II, husband of Denise Wagner of Schuylkill Haven and Scott C., husband of Betty Wagner of Fleetwood.

Other survivors include his brother, Carl Wagner of Cressona and his sister, June Dando of Myerstown.

There are also five grandchildren and one great grandchild surviving.

James was predeceased by his brothers Lyle Wagner and Lee Wagner and his sister, Blanche Loy.

Services will be Friday at 12 p.m. in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4201 Stoudt's Ferry Bridge Road, Reading, PA 19605. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in church. Burial will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park.
