James V. Clausius

James V. Clausius

James V. Clausius, 87, formerly of Wyomissing, died June 19, 2007 in Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was the husband of Mary L. (Schmauch) Clausius.

Born in Tamaqua, he was a son of the late John and Mary (McHugh) Clausius.

James was a graduate of Girard College.

He was a 21 year veteran of the U.S. Navy earning the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Mr. Clausius served during World War II in China and Midway Island.

James was also a medical assistant for Bethlehem Steel for a number of years until his retirement.

He was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, James E. Clausius, Wyomissing; and his three daughters, Judith A. wife of Ronald Cardinal, Allentown, J. Cynthia wife of Sam Stamson, Reading and Deborah S. wife of David Kinkaid, Mt. Penn. There are also one brother, Joseph Clausius, in Maryland; and one sister, Margaret Kubilus, Tamaqua. Four grandchildren, Jessica, Casey, Matthew and Kevin also survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church 2810 St. Albans Drive Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 11 to 11:30 a.m. in the church. Contributions may be made to Girard College 2101 South College Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19121 or to St. Ignatius Church at the above address. Edward J.
