James W. Spannuth, 52, West Wyomissing, died of natural causes Sept. 20 at 8:15 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since Aug. 14.
Born in Ohio, he was a son of Anna May (Doleniak) Kern, Temple, and the late James H. Spannuth.
Spannuth was employed for more than 25 years by Carpenter Technology Corp., until his retirement.
He was a graduate of Wilson High School.
Spannuth was a past treasurer of the West Lawn Quoiting Club.
He is also survived by a son, James R., Tampa, Fla.; and a daughter, Nikki L. Spannuth, Mount Penn.
Other survivors include a half brother, Mark R. Kern, Reading; and a half sister, Kim L. (Kern) Hildebrandt, Sinking Spring.
There are also his stepfather, John B. Kern, Temple; and his stepmother, Dolores L. (Hunsberger) Spannuth, West Lawn.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading.Friends may call from 12 noon-1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 N. Progress Avenue, Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
