James E. "Quinny" Quinn, Jr., 79, of Cumru Township, passed away November 6, 2013, in the Reading Hospital.
He was the husband of Sandra K. (Stump) Miller Quinn.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late James Elmer Quinn, Sr., and Margaret (Smith) Quinn Differding.
He was a 1952 graduate of Reading High School.
James worked as a paper cutter for Arnold's Bookbindery, Reading and later worked in the same capacity at Grafika Printing, Sinking Spring until his retirement.
A professional drummer, he played for several local bands including: Cadillacs, Fancy Brass, and Franky Scott Trio.
He was an avid Phillies fan.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Keith, husband of Valerie Quinn, Dayton, OH; Karen Quinn, wife of Rodney Breitenstein, Reading; Kathy Quinn, wife of John Vescera, Dana Point, CA; and Kimberly Quinn, West Lawn; and his step-daughter, Michelle (Miller), wife of Glenn Holmes, Sr., Exeter Twp. There are two sisters: Janet Strause, Shillington and Marilyn, wife of Wilfred Rock, Hyde Park. Thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive him. He will be dearly missed by his beloved pets: Buddy, Scoobie, and Niki.
James was predeceased by his step-son, Michael Miller, in 2005.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, P.O. Box 69, Mohnton, PA 19540.
