James P. O'Boyle

James P. O'Boyle, 91, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Above and Beyond at the Knights in Allentown. He was the husband of Jeanie (Cummings) O'Boyle with whom he shared 36 years of marriage before her passing in 2023.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Thomas and Sarah (Miller) O'Boyle. James joined the Army in 1950 during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany during his service. After his military service, he worked for many years as a machine operator for Teledyne.

Jim was devoted to his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren in Avalon, NJ, and supporting and cheering on his grandchildren in their endeavors, which included watching Michael play baseball, enjoying Megan's artistic works, and watching Brinn play soccer. He and Jeanie also traveled extensively across the US, seeing all that the country has to offer. At home, he looked forward to weekend poker games with family and friends.

Jim is survived by sons, Mike O'Boyle (Kate) of Allentown and Dan O'Boyle (Bryan) of Lake Worth, FL; stepchildren, Kelly McClennan (Robert) of Wyomissing and Scott Starr of New York, NY; and grandchildren: Michael O'Boyle, Megan McClennan, and Brinn McClennan.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA, 19611. The family will receive friends and relatives from 9:30am until the time of service. Burial at Forest Hills Memorial Park will follow.
