James E. Noon

James E. Noon

James Edward Noon, 85, of 336 Chestnut Street, West Reading died September 13th at 11:50 p.m. in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been since Wednesday.

Married 61 years, he was the husband of Ruth Ethel (Fromm) Noon.

Born in Williamsport, Lycoming County, he was a son of the late John L. and Mabel F. (Flanagan) Noon.

He was a 1938 graduate of South Williamsport High School.

Noon was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

He worked 35 years for the Reading Brewery Company, last working as a supervisor in the Bottling Shop before the company closed in 1976.

Noon last worked in the bottle shop for eight years at the 7-Up Bottling Company, Reading, before retiring in 1985.

He was a Navy Veteran of WWII.

Noon was a life member of the Knight of Columbus, Veterans Firemans Association, West Reading Fire Company and the Liberty (Sinking Spring) Fire Company.

He is also survived by a son, Michael J. Noon of Wyomissing and eight daughters; Patricia A. Noon of Sinking Spring, Linda L. (Noon) Kramer of Spring Township, Joan M. (Noon) Lysczek of Colony Park, Mary C. (Noon) Muller of Shillington, Teresa E. (Noon) Sanders of West Reading, Kathleen J. (Noon) Marabella of Spring Township, Colleen R. Noon of West Reading and Regina L. (Noon) Hart of Exeter Township.

Other survivors include a sister, Mary J. (Noon) Hurne of South Williamsport, Lycoming County and two brothers, Harry V. Noon of Erie and John L. Noon of South Williamsport, Lycoming County.

There are nineteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading. Viewing Tuesday Evening 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum, Muhlenberg Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Memorial Fund, Lakeview and Franklin Streets, West Reading, Pa 19611.
