James Norman Kemmerling, 79, formerly of West Reading, died of natural causes September 16th in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jeanette C. (Henry) Kemmerling, who died February 20, 2005.
Born in Allentown on May 3, 1927, he was a son of the late Allen W. and Katie L. (Hausman) Kemmerling.
He was employed as a laborer for a number of years at Frank C. Sneaker Lumber Company, Fleetwood, until his retirement.
James was a Navy Veteran of WWII.
He is survived by a son, Robert A. Mundell of West Reading and two daughters, Diane Kemmerling of Reading and Shirley A. Kemmerling of Pottstown.
Other survivors include a step-son, Clarence E. Howell of Blandon and two step-daughters, Rhea J. Howell of Reading and Darla J. (Howell) Holleran of Spring Township.
There is also a brother, Thomas of Steelton and three sisters, Carol of Steelton, Joyce of Longswamp Township and Rita of Allentown.
James is also survived by two grandchildren, five step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 10:00am in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. No public viewing. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Association for Blind, 2020 Hampden Blvd., Reading, Pa 19604. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
