James W. Mehaffey

James W. Mehaffey, 71, of Wyomissing, passed away October 6, 2013, in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of Louise A. (Solomon) Mehaffey, whom he married 49 years ago on July 25, 1964.

Born February 18, 1942 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late James W. Mehaffey, Sr. and Nevella (Stotler) Mehaffey.

He was a graduate of Norwin High School and the University of Maryland.

James worked as a quality engineer for several companies before owning Mehaffey Management Systems, Wyomissing, from which he retired in 2005.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the nuclear submarine service during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his two children: Jay W. Mehaffey, Warminster, and Kelly A. Mehaffey, Arlington, VA. Also surviving is his sister, Pam.

A visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be private.
