James M. Mcgovern

James Murray McGovern, 86, formerly of Reading, died May 23, 2008 at 10:00 pm in Berks Heim, Bern Township, where he had been a resident since June 19, 2005.

Born in West Reading, PA on November 4, 1921, he was a son of the late Peter J. and Florence M. (Murray) McGovern.

He was a 1939 graduate of Wyomissing High School.

James was an a member of the Armed Services during WWII, and while in the Air Force received the Bronze Star for service in Northern Europe. James was also a member of VFW, Post #38, Reading.

He was a real estate broker for many years and owned McGovern Real Estate, Reading.

James had served on the Berks County Board of Realtors and was a long time member of Berks County Realtors.

He is survived by a nephew, Robert J. Graeff, of Bern Township.
