James R. Leibelsperger

James Robert Leibelsperger, 83, of 8 Monroe Street, Laureldale, Pa 19605, died October 7th at 5:45 am in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been since September 18th.

He was married November 28, 1946 to Elsie Mae (Schlenker) Leibelsperger.

Born in Richmond Township, he was a son of the late William and Edna (Gift) Leibelsperger.

He worked for 5 years as a laborer for Beckerman's Shoe Factory of Kutztown.

Leibelsperger last worked as a welder for 30 years at Parish Structural Products Division of Dana Corporation, Reading before retiring in 1977.

He was a member of Alsace Lutheran Church, Hyde Park.

Leibelsperger was a Army Air Corp., Veteran of WWII.

He is also survived by a daughter, Sharon S. (Leibelsperger) Fernandez of Houston, Texas and two sons, Raymond C. of Moline, Ill. and Michael J. of Bettendorf, Iowa.

Other survivors include a sister, Sally Leibelsperger of Kutztown and a brother, LeRoy Leibelsperger of Temple.

There are two grandsons and one great grandson.

Services will be Friday at 2:30 pm in the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Rev. Charles E. Fair officiating. Viewing Thursday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
