James W. Kompa, 50, of 1047 Amity Street, Reading, Pa 19604, died October 7th at 10:10 a.m. in the Reading Hospital where he had been since Sunday.
He was the husband of Bertha E. "Cookie" (Keiser) Kompa.
Born in Reading, Pa., he was a son of Wilma (Seidel) Kompa, Laureldale and the late Wallace B. Kompa.
Kompa was a landscaper for a number of years for Town & Country Landscaping, Reading and last worked for Penn State University, Berks Campus as a landscaper until his retirement.
He is also survived by a son, Raymond C. Rudy of Reading and a daughter, Shelli (Rudy) Eckert of Laureldale.
Other survivors include two sisters, Sandra (Kompa) Kolowski of Shillington and Suzanne (Kompa) Longo of Pine Grove.
There are also four grandchildren, Raymond, Ryan, Brittney and Joelle.
Kompa was predeceased by a sister, Geraldine (Kompa) Waldman.
Services will be Thursday 10:00 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Viewing 9:00 until time of service. Rev. Fred Allen officiating. Burial in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
