James R. Hoffman

James R. Hoffman, 90, of Rittenhouse Senior Living of Reading, died December 20, 2011 in St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the widower of Effie L. (Myers) Hoffman.

Born in Mohrsville, he was a son of the late Elmer L. and Ella May (Roth) Hoffman.

He was a truck driver for Motor Freight Express, Reading, for over 30 years, retiring in 1981.

James was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII in North Africa and Italy.

He is survived by his daughter, Sharon L., widow of James Seidel, Sinking Spring and his son, John M. Hoffman, Lebanon. Also surviving are six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two sons: James D. Hoffman in 2002 and Jarrett R. Hoffman in 2001.

A Memorial Service will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A visitation will be 1:30 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
