James D. Hoffman

James D. Hoffman, 54, of Kutztown, died September 13th at 2:32 a.m. in Saint Joseph Hospital, Reading where he had been a patient since August 27th.

He is survived by his Cynthia Joan (Talmadge) Hoffman who where married November 20, 1971.

Born in Reading, Pa he was a son of James Richard Hoffman of Fleetwood and the late Effie L. (Betz-Myers) Hoffman.

He was a 1965 graduate of Reading High School.

Hoffman was employed by Weis Markets, Kutztown for a number of years in the customer service department, last working in January.

He was a Life Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, Reading.

Hoffman was also a Civil War enthusiast.

He is also survived by a son, Brett D. of Lancaster and a daughter, Amy Leigh Hoffman of Kutztown.

Other survivors include a brother, John M. Hoffman of Crested Butte, Colorado, and a sister Sharon L. (Hoffman) widow of James W. Seidel of Reading.

He is also survived by his dog, Jeb Stewart.

Hoffman was predeceased by a brother, Jarrett R. Hoffman (Died May 2, 2001).

Services will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Visitation Sunday 2:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America, 4901 Pottsville Pike, Reading, Pa 19605.
