James A. Flynn

James A. Flynn, 81, formerly of Wyomissing and of Denver, PA, died May 21, 2010 in Lancaster General Hospital.

His wife, Joan C. (Marcroft) Flynn, died February 24, 1987.

Born in Harlem, NY, he was a son of the late James A. and Marie T. (Daly) Flynn.

He was a Korean War veteran, serving as Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy.

James earned his BS degree in Engineering from SUNY, Maritime, Bronx.

He was a nuclear engineer for the New York Power Authority.

James was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes, New Holland.

He is survived by five children, James A., Coopersburg, PA, Jeff E., Palm Coast, FL, Sharon M. Westfall, Oxford, NC, Janet T. Flynn, Montoursville, PA and Rob, New Milford, CT. One sister, Janet T. Shea, Granville, OH, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive him.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, with a prayer service to begin at 7 p.m. Additional services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
