James V. Fergus

James V. Fergus

James Vincent Fergus, Sr., 71, of Limerick Township, Montgomery County and formerly of Wyomissing Hills, Berks County, died January 17, 2010 in Pottstown Medical Center, where he had been a patient since January 6th.

He was the husband of Frances C. (Byron) Fergus, whom he married September 18, 1965.

Born in Chicago, IL on July 19, 1938, he was a son of the late John P. and Catherine E. (Shea) Fergus.

He was a 1956 graduate of St. Vincent's (High School) College, Cape Girardeau, MO and a 1961 graduate of St. Mary's Seminary, Perryville, MO.

James was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Roman Catholic Church, Limerick.

He was employed by the Airline Pilots Association as the human resources director for a number of years and was later employed by Sharpoint, Inc., Mohnton where he was the Vice President of Human Resources.

James was then employed as the human resources manager with Superior Tube, Collegeville and was last employed by Alcoa, Schuylkill County as the human resources manager before retiring in 2004.

He is also survived by three children: James V. Jr., husband of Christine M. (Crowers) Fergus of Downingtown; Mary F. (Fergus), wife of Steven N. Pompizzi of Collegeville and Patrick B., husband of Lori B. (Conway) Fergus of Royersford.

Other survivors include two siblings: Mary Kay (Fergus), wife of William DeBaets of Prospect Heights, IL and John, husband of Kathryn (Thornton) Fergus of Chicago, IL.

There are also six grandchildren surviving.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 am in St. Eleanor Church, 647 Locust St., Collegeville. Viewings will be held Tuesday, 6:00 - 8:00 pm in Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington St., Royersford, PA 19468 and Wednesday 9:00 am until time of Mass in the Church. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Phoenixville.
