James E. Ebert

James E. Ebert, 73, of West Lawn, died June 2, 2014, in Reading Hospital.

James was husband of Sallijean H. (Jauch) Ebert, whom he married June 14, 1964, in the West Lawn United Methodist Church by Rev. Rolin Reiner. James and Sally were 12 days shy of their 50th wedding anniversary.

Born in Beaver Meadows, James was one of 3 sons born to the late George and Elizabeth (Wiley) Ebert.

James graduated from Wilson High School in 1959 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Pennsylvania State University in 1964.

James practiced architecture in the Reading and Allentown areas, until retiring from the Olsen Design Group in 2012.

He was a lifelong member of West Lawn United Methodist Church, and was a member of the AIA (American Institute of Architects).

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Eric S., husband of Layal Ebert, Blue Bell; Leigh E., wife of Jay Loughney, Collegeville and Megan E., wife of Eric Swearingen, Wilmington, DE. There are nine grandchildren, Emerson, age 13, Maxwell, age 11, Emlyn, age 9, Ayden, age 16, Declan, age 12, Riley, age 10, Avery, age 6 and twins Henry and Eleanor ages 4. One brother, Richard G., husband of Susan Ebert, Linglestown also survives him. He was predeceased by one brother, Robin W. Ebert.
