James W. Dietrich, 76 of Tilden Township died January 4th, 2013 in The Reading Hospital & Medical Center where he had been a patient for a day. He was the husband of Marian E. (Zweizig) Dietrich to whom he had been married to for 56 years. James was born in Richmond Township and was the son of the late Pious E. and Ida (Hottenstein) Dietrich. He worked for 20 years as a dock worker for Branch Motor Freight and was a lifelong self employed farmer. He also worked for many years at the Leesport Auction. Jim was a member of Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, Richmond Township. In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 sons: James R. husband of Donna Dietrich, Upper Bern Township and Dennis L. husband of Adele Dietrich, Upper Tulpehocken Township, 6 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 sisters: Helen widow of Lawrence Moyer, Bern Township, Dorothy widow of Robert McLaughlin, Tilden Township and 1 brother, Harold husband of Dianna Dietrich, Perry Township. James was predeceased by a daughter, Darlene Weist and 2 brothers, Raymond and Earl Dietrich and a sister, Catherine Stern. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 9th at 11:00 AM in the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S. 4th Street, Hamburg. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Michaels Cemetery, Tilden Township.
