James Henry Cooper IV, 33, of Muhlenberg Township, died April 25, 2008 in his parents Spring Township residence.
He was the husband of Chasity Lee (Taylor) Cooper, of Muhlenberg Township.
Born in Reading, PA on April 22, 1975, he was a son of James H. Cooper III and Susan J. (Schlegal) Cooper of Spring Township.
He was a 1993 graduate of Reading High School and a 2007 graduate of the Reading Police Academy.
James had been employed since November as a police officer with the Reading Police Department, last working Wednesday.
He is also survived by two daughters; Taylor A. and Cadence J. Cooper, both at home.
Other survivors include his maternal grandparents; Donald W. and Sarah M. (Stump) Schlegal of Spring Township and his paternal grandfather, James H. Cooper Jr., widower of Jeanne I. (Bolig) Cooper of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
There is also two siblings surviving, Ian B. Cooper of Spring Township and Danielle R. Cooper of West Chester.
Services will be Tuesday at 10am in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, with the Rev. Eileen M. Le Van officiating. Viewings will be held Monday evening 6:00 - 8:30 pm and Tuesday morning 9:00 am until time of services. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
