Jaime Noel Ramos passed away on November 2, 2023, in Reading Hospital. Jaime was born in Ponce Puerto Rico on March 3, 1954. He was a son of the late Ramon and Maria (Cruz) Ramos. Jaime grew up in Philadelphia, PA, and was one of 11 children.
Jaime was a talented percussionist, playing the drums, bongos and congas, music was his passion.
Jaime attended Thomas Edison High School in Philadelphia.
In 1977, he married his first wife Maria, and they had three daughters. During his early 20's, he worked his first job at the SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA, where he traveled from Philadelphia on bike. Jaime then worked at the New Cathedral Cemetery with his dad in Philadelphia. Although his passion was music, he put that aside to take care of his family and pursued a career in the truck driving industry. Jaime earned his CDL in 1983. In between his driving career he also worked as a security guard at the Fairgrounds Mall, where he met his second wife, Ruth, and they had one son and two daughters. Jaime concluded his career after achieving the milestone of driving over 5,000,000 miles. "Hammer" will be missed by many.
Jaime's memory will be treasured by his children: Magdalena Aris-Williams (husband Jason, Deceased); Marilyn Falu (husband Julio); Marisol Ramos; Abram E. Ramos; Gabriela R. Ramos; and Leanna E. Ramos; grandchildren: Deja Rolon; Roberto Lopez; David Rolon; Riana Lopez; Jonathan Ramos; Jacob Ramos; and Mason Aris-Williams; as well as his great granddaughter, Lyla De Jesus. He is also survived by his siblings: Ramon Ramos; Jorge Ramos; Sara Serrano; Jose Ramos; Luis Ramos; Carlos Ramos; David Ramos; and Lourdes Ramos; and his many nieces and nephews.
Jaime was predeceased by his wife, Ruth, his parents, Ramon and Maria, and brothers, Felix and Wilfrido Ramos.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 322 S 5th St, Reading, PA 19602, with commital to follow at Berks County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc, 5153 Kutztown Rd, Temple, PA 19560. Condolences may be expressed at KuhnFuneralHomes.com.
