Jadwiga J. Starosciak

Jadwiga J. (Zientara) Starosciak, 92, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Wladyslaw. They shared 68 years of marriage together.

Born in Poland, she was the daughter of the late Szczepan and Helena (Doktor). After arriving in the US in 1982, Jadwiga worked various jobs as a garment maker, healthcare aide at St. Joseph’s Villa, and in the kitchen at Hawthorne Assisted Living, where she retired. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and knitting, gardening, and making meals for her family.

In addition to her husband, Jadwiga is survived by her children: Zbigniew Starosciak, Grazyna Kochmanski (Edward), and Janusz Starosciak (Bozena); her daughter in law, Teresa Starosicak; her seven grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her four brothers and four sisters; her son, Marek Starosciak; and granddaughter, Monica Hoffman Kochmanski

A viewing will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611 from 6:30-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 250 S. 12th St, Reading, PA 19602 with burial to follow in The National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, 654 Ferry Rd, Doylestown, PA 18901.
