Jacqueline G. Straub

Jacqueline G. Straub, 79, passed away December 9, 2011 in her West Reading residence.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jordan D. Straub, Sr. who died in 2008 and her son, David "Strauby" who died in 1991.

Born in West Reading, she was a daughter of the late Elmer B. and Gladys L. (Strunk) Schearer.

She was a 1950 graduate of Reading High School.

Jacqueline worked as a crossing guard for the Wyomissing Area School District for 30 years. She was also an honorary cheerleader for the Wyomissing Spartan football team.

She is survived by her son, J. Douglas Straub, Jr., fiance of Helen Piccone, Mohnton and her two daughters: Judith A., wife of Christopher Johnson, Bear, DE and Loretta L. Suliveres, fiancée of Sam Alicea, West Reading. Also surviving are her sister, Barbara L. Ciervo, West Reading; four grandchildren: Jocelynn Rosell, Jesse Suliveres, Kiana Clifton, Bryan Bohall and a three great-grandchildren: Lauren Rosell, Caitlyn Rosell and Urijah Suliveres.

Graveside services will Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, PA 19605. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
