Jacqueline A. (Kachel) Farrier, 77, formerly of Temple, has returned to be with the Lord carried in the arms of the Angels to which she found solace, June 3, 2023. Jacqueline (Jackie), was the wife of Thomas P. Farrier, Sr., who preceded her in death June 2019. Jacqueline was the first born of four daughters born on June 6, 1945 in Trenton, Michigan, to the late Fern Kachel (Pershonic) and Vinson Kachel. She and her parents returned to Shillington, PA where Jackie spent all her school years, and graduated from Governor Mifflin High School in 1963. Jackie met Tom when they were both working at Luden's candy factory in Reading, PA and they were married March of 1967.
In addition to Jackie's love of Angels, which many knew her to have quite the collection, Jackie loved the ocean, and she and Tom would take many trips to Atlantic City, NJ with their children and family. Her love for the ocean also led her and Tom to take several cruises for their vacations after their children were grown. They both also enjoyed returning to Atlantic City, NJ to spend time at the casinos, where Jackie was known to drop a quarter or two… or a few more, in the slot machines.
After Jacqueline retired from GAI-Tronics Corporation in 2005, Jackie spent quite a bit of her time gardening in the flower and vegetable gardens she and Tom created in their yard. Tom enjoyed building the raised beds and Jackie enjoyed filling them with plants galore.
She is survived by her daughter Dawn C. McDonough (Farrier), wife of Robert K., and a son Thomas P. Farrier, Jr.
Jacqueline also leaves behind her two sisters Jill Kachel and Kim Kachel, along with her nieces Sloane, Kendra and Chelsea, as well as several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Tom, Jacqueline was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra (Kachel) Farrell in November, 2022.
An excerpt from one of Jacqueline's favorite poems which could be found framed by her bedside, said to be written by her Grandmother, Anna Kachel in 1984 reads as follows:
"On A Wing of Prayer"
Just close your eyes and open your heart
And feel your worries and cares depart
Just yield yourself to the Father above
And let him hold you secure in his love.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Jacqueline's name to Berks Nature, 575 Saint Bernardine Street, Reading, PA 19607. Service and internment where Jacqueline and Tom will be joined in eternal rest side by side will be private at the convenience of the family.
