Jacob Charles Rothermel

Jacob Charles Rothermel, Sr., formerly of Kutztown and Oley, died October 13, 2014 in Reading Hospital.

Born February 22, 1930 in Bowers, he was a son of the late Jacob D. and Miriam Rothermel.

He was employed in various aspects of the construction field for over 50 years.

Jacob served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are his three children: E. Judith, wife of Michael E. Bond of Topton; Amy C. Rothermel of Spring Township and Jacob C., Jr., husband of Jennifer (Miller) Rothermel of Coudersport, Potter County.

Other survivors include his sister, Anna Bortz of Longswamp Township; his seven grandchildren: Renee Geiger, Daryl Bond, Justin Bond, Connor Rothermel, Laura Rothermel, Gavin Rothermel and Caitlyn Rothermel and eight great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6:00-7:30 in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Burial will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
