Jacob Carl Probeck

Jacob Carl Probeck, 90, died October 14th in his residence at The Lutheran Home at Topton where he had been since July 5, 2000.

Born in Syracuse, N.Y., he was a son of the late Jacob and Catherine (Shenk) Probeck.

He was a stock clerk for a number of years in Chappell's Department Store Syracuse, N.Y. until his retirement.

Probeck was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Syracuse, New York.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth P. (Probeck) Wickert, Arlene (Probeck) Hart and a brother, Carl A. Probeck.

Probeck is survived by several nieces and nephews, Carol (Wickert) wife of Herman Spitzer of Seneca, S.C., Theodore husband of Valorie (Proud) Wickert of Exeter Twp., Pa., Rev. Grant husband of Linda (Croft) Wickert of Muhlenberg Twp., Pa., and Paula (Probeck) wife of Gery Smith of Hampton Bays, N.Y.

Services will be held Thursday at Noon in St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 873 Dewitt St., Syracuse, N.Y. 13203. Viewing 11 am until time of service. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse, N.Y. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church.
