Jack C. Rowe

Jack Charles Rowe, Sr., 78, of Temple, died March 8, 2010 in Berkshire Center, Exeter Township.

He was the husband of Helen Violet (Hamm) Rowe, whom he married June 27, 1953.

Born August 4, 1931 in his Reading residence, he was a son of the late Evelyn Mae (Rowe) Holl.

Jack was employed as a repairman with Central Tire, Reading for a number of years.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Jack was a social member of Central Fire Company, Laureldale.

Surviving are his children: Sheila M. (Rowe), wife of Dennis G. Calvaresi of Reading; Jack C. Jr., husband of Rosa M. (Ortiz) Rowe of Temple and Bonnie L. (Rowe), wife of C.Theordore Sauer of Shillington.

Other survivors include a sister, Betty J. (Schlott) Schlessman of Reading; six grandchildren, four step grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Jacqueline Ann Rowe, who died in April of 1975.

Services will be Thursday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Viewings will be held Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and Thursday morning from 9:30-10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
