Jack C. Luigard, 88, of Sinking Spring, passed away April 15, 2008, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of Marjorie A. (Weidner) Luigard for 58 years.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Gordon Luigard and Bessie (Manwiller) Neubling.

Jack is a 1937 graduate of Reading High School.

He was employed by Metropolitan Edison Company as an accountant for 33 years.

Jack was the original tenor in the Chordsmen quartet of Reading which won the Arthur Godfrey talent contest in 1953, and was a tenor soloist in various churches in Berks County.

He also was a former president of Administrative Management Society, Reading, and was a loaned executive for the United Way.

In addition to his wife, there are three daughters, Anne L. wife of Stephen Ertel, Muhlenberg Township; Janet L. wife of Bernie Behrenshausen, Sinking Spring; Barbara J. wife of Michael Tully, Lancaster; and five grandchildren, Dr. Andrew Ertel; Alexander Ertel; Bryan husband of Kathryn (Wisniewski) Behrenshausen; Brent Behrenshausen; and Kirstin Mumaugh.

Memorial services will be Friday April 25 in the West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Penn & Woodside Ave., West Lawn, PA 19609 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 25 Stevens Ave., West Lawn, PA 19609, or Berks Visiting Nurse Association c/o Hospice, 1170 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, PA 19610.
