Jack W. Jones

Jack W. Jones, 86, of Reading, passed away in his residence the evening of Friday, January 14, 2022. He was the widower of Lynne M. (Hinrichs) Jones, who passed away on February 22, 2006. Born in Reading to the late Wilbur and Kathryn (Heckman) Jones, Jack graduated from Reading High School and attended Gettysburg College.

A veteran of the US Army, Jack served during the Korean War. He retired in 1998 as the inventory control manager for Exide, formerly General Battery, after 25 years of employment.

Jack devoted much time to perfecting his racquetball game, and until a few short years ago, could regularly be found at the Y or LA Fitness ready to play. He mentored many players over the years and greatly enjoyed a good game with a good opponent.

He also enjoyed day trips with the Nifty Fifty's Club. Jack treasured time spent with his family, especially during the holidays. His great sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Jack is survived by his sons: Kenneth Jones (Janna Nelson) of Birdsboro; Keith Jones (Darlene) of Laureldale; Kurt Jones (Susan) of Muhlenberg; and Karl Jones (Elissa Gentile) of Exeter; grandchildren Cliff, Ryan, Shelby, Colby, Jagger, and Khloey; and great granddaughters Natalie and Sophie.

Friends are invited to call on the family on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Burial will be private.
