Irwin W. Ebbert, 77, of Olive Street, West Reading, died March 21 at 10:45 p.m. in the Lutheran Home at Topton, where he had been a patient since Jan. 14.

He was the husband of Elizabeth L. (Shuman) Ebbert.

Born in Mohnton, he was a son of the late George and Mary (Gerhart) Ebbert.

Ebbert had been employed for 15 years by Sunoco, Wyomissing, retiring in 2000. He had previously worked 31 years in the warehouse and as a truck driver for Bob White Frozen Foods, West Reading, retiring in 1985.

He was a member of St. James Church, West Reading.

Ebbert was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was a life member of the Temple Fire Company.

Ebbert is also survived by two daughters, Elaine L. (Ebbert) Brown, Muhlenberg Township, and Donna L. (Ebbert) Showers, Hamburg.

Other survivors include a sister, Virginia (Ebbert) Spayd, Shillington, and three brothers: Charles, Shillington; George, Mohnton; and Rodney, West Lawn.

There are also four grandchildren and one stepgrandson.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton
