Irvin G. Grauf

Irvin George Grauf, 68, of Reading, died November 12, 2008 at 11:16 am in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been a patient since November 8th.

He was the husband of Charlotte Marie (Doolin) Grauf, whom he married Mary 31, 1991.

Born in St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading, PA on September 18, 1940, he was a son of the late Irvin Jacob Grauf and Dorothy (Thomas) Grauf.

He was a 1958 graduate of Reading High School.

Irvin was a firefighter with the City of Reading for 28 years, retiring in 1993. He ran his own videography business from 1993 to 2001. He was also employed as a mail carrier for the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading since February, 2002.

Irvin was a member of WEVA (Wedding and Event Videographer Association).

He was a Marine Corp and Air Force Veteran.

Irvin is also survived by a son Richard I., husband of Heather M. (Bean) Grauf of Reading.

Other survivors include two siblings: Edward G. Grauf of Reading and Kathleen L. (Grauf), widow of David J. Spayd of Laureldale.

There is also one grandson surviving; Grant A. Grauf of Reading.

Services will be Monday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with the Rev. Rebecca W. Knox officiating. Viewings will be held Sunday 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Monday 9:30 until time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.
