Irvin W. "Jesse" Brumbach, 70, went to find that elusive "hole in one." He died at home at 4:00 p.m. on October 12, 2012 in Kathy's arms, surrounded by family and friends.
Born September 13, 1942, in Alsace Township, he was the son of the late Walter R. and Hilda (Folk) Brumbach.
Irvin was a graduate of Reading High School and finished his computer education at IMS in 1966
He served in the U.S. Army reserves for 6 years.
He was a programmer and system analyst at Reading Hospital and Medical Center for 36 years, retiring in 2005.
He also left behind the "Pinochle Club," friends of 40 years, the guys in the Card Club and Paul's.
He was always a lover of the "Oldies". He knew all of the songs and the artists who first recorded them, and went to many of the shows. But his real passion was for golf with Norm, Patrick, and all the Friday afternoon and Sunday morning groups of guys. Although the Manor and the golfers there were his home course. He made frequent trips to Myrtle Beach over the last 40 years. He is survived by his spouse of 45 years, Kathy A. Donahue and her family, her mother, Cass Donahue at the Sacred Heart Villa, Reading; and siblings, Dick Donahue and family friend, Sam Franklin of Delray Beach, FL; Pat and Judy Donahue and John and Anna Donahue, both of Wyomissing, and Michael and Cindy Donahue of Pottsville and Rosemary Donahue Conley and her husband Sam Conley of Pocono Lake.
He was always "Uncle Jess" or "Brummy" to all of the following nieces and nephews: Debbie and Todd Bater and childern; Katie, Devan and Taylor of Atlanta; Pat and Betsy Donahue and children Patrick, Brianna, Meghan of Wyomissing; Colleen Conrad and Children Jesse and Jordan of Sinking Spring; Eric and Nicole Donahue and children Roman, Samantha and Lidia; Sean and Mandy Donahue and children Avery and Natalie of Harleysville; Brad Donahue of Minneapolis and Jason and Justyna Conley and son Brandon of Oceanside, CA.
Also remembering Irvin are his friends from the Long Time Pinochle Club: Lynda and Denny, Pearl and George, Kathy and Jim, Marcia and Dave, Jean and Chick, and Olga and Donald.
For all who knew Jesse, it is no suprise that he wanted to be cremated and ashes spread on many golf courses, which Kathy will do. He also wanted no funeral service or memorial. He wished that you remember him on the next 18 holes.
