Irene M. Wentzel

Irene M. Wentzel, 92 of Tilden Township, died in the Laurel Center on August 19th where she had resided the past 4 years. She was the widow of Norman J. Wentzel who died July 13, 1973. Irene was born in Perry Township and was the daughter of the late Titus O. and Clara D. (Kerchner) Merkel. She was a 1939 graduate of Perry High School. Irene was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Hamburg. She is survived by 1 son, Larry A. husband of Linda Wentzel, Hamburg, 2 daughters, Norma J. wife of John Krause, West Brunswick Township, and Carol A. Clymer companion of Glen McNeil, Hamburg. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 3 sisters, Clara Gruber, Grace Bower and Verna Mengel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Avenue, Reading, PA. 19605. Services will be private.
