Irene R. Hafer

Irene R. Hafer, 81, formerly of Spruce Street, West Reading, died Dec. 28 at 4:05 a.m. in ManorCare Health Services Inc., Spring Township.

Her husband, Charles F. Hafer Jr., died April 18, 1999.

Born in West Reading, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Naugle) Renninger.

Hafer was a 1938 graduate of Shillington High School.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Hafer) Hart, Camlachie, Ontario, and Cheryl (Hafer) Pogue, Cincinnati, and three sons: Frederick D., Wyomissing; Jeffrey C., Spring Township; and Gregory R., Robeson Township.

There are also 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Private burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township.
