Irene L. Cichowicz

Irene L. (Karczewski) Cichowicz, 89, of Reading, died August 5, 2015 in Mifflin Center.

Her husband, Raymond J. Cichowicz died in 2005.

Born in Wilmington, DE, she was a daughter of the late Leon and Helen (Remza) Karczewski.

She was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

Irene was an avid crocheter and card player; she loved the casinos.

Irene is survived by three children: Joseph R. Cichowicz, Reading, Patricia I., wife of Keith A. Hiester, Shillington and Mark P., husband of Brenda Cichowicz, Coatesville; two sisters, Theresa Arentz and Helen, wife of Harold Gantert, all of Reading; her granddaughter, Jennifer, wife of Bruce Pelker, Mohnton; her great-granddaughter, Morgan Scheirer and her brother-in-law, John Maslar, Millsboro, DE.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Ramona Cichowicz and her sister, Dolores Maslar.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. John Baptist de la Salle R.C. Church, 420 Holland St, Shillington, PA 19607. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Life Choice Hospice, 10 Zions Church Rd., Shoemakersville, PA 19555. Edward J.
