Ira H. Rimby

Ira H. "Bud" Rimby, 83, of Mt. Penn, passed away May 9, 2009 in Reading Hospital surrounding by his loving family.

He was the widower of Rita E. (Thren) Rimby.

Born in Stonetown, he was a son of the late Ira H. and Tillie Blanche (Keinard) Rimby.

Ira was employed as a foreman for 40 years by Mrs. Smith's Pies, Pottstown, retiring in 1991.

He was a member of: Liberty Fire Company, New Bernlinville, Strausstown Gun Club, Pikeville Gun Club and Universal Gun Club.

Ira enjoyed carpentry, gardening, hunting and fishing.

He served in the United States Navy during WWII.

Ira is survived by three daughters, Linda, wife of Dave Huyett, Reading, Eileen Rimby, West Lawn, Bonnie Rimby-Bean, Mt. Penn; his brother, Robert Rimby, Monocacy; three sisters, Helen Deeds, Reiffton, Mary Jane Kochel, Elverson, Ruth Hartline, Kutztown and his grandson, Christian Bean also survive him.

Services will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
