Imogene M. White

Imogene M. "Jean" White, 79, of Wyomissing, died May 9, 2008 in Reading Hospital.

Her husband, Jay W. White, died in 1976.

Born in Mt. Airy, NC, she was a daughter of the late Anthony Wayne and Ada (Parries) McBride.

She was a earned her BS degree in Home Economics from Catawba College, Salisbury, NC.

Jean began her professional career as a home economics teacher. Later, she was a real estate agent in Berks County for many years until her retirement.

She was an avid bridge player her entire life.

Jean is survived by her three children, Judith A., wife of Thomas D. East, Haverford; Michael L., husband of Corinne A. White, Leesport and Timothy J. White, husband of S. Kyle Lord, Fleetwood. There are six siblings, Kathleen Allen, Doris Jacobi, Della Baxley, Betty Edwards, Wayne McBride and Richard McBride. Five grandchildren and one great granddaughter also survive her. She was predeceased by one sister, Pauline Kirkman.
