I. Elizabeth Reese

I. Elizabeth Reese, 93, passed away on September 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Herbert Reese, with whom she shared 69 years of marriage before his passing in 2022.

Born in Reading, she was the youngest child of the late Ralph H. Cole Sr. and Margaret (Seidle) Cole. Elizabeth is predeceased by her sister Josephine, and brothers Ralph Jr. and Robert Cole. After graduating from Reading High School in 1951, she graduated from the Reading Business Institute in 1953 with a Medical Secretary Diploma. Elizabeth worked as the Supervisor of the Circulation Department for the City of Reading for many years. She was an active member of the Washington Presbyterian Church.

Her love for people led her to volunteer in the community. Elizabeth was active in various theater organizations. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, writing, and acting.

Those cherishing her memory are her children: daughter, Lisa Reese-Cassell; son, Michael Reese(son); and two grandchildren: Maija Cassell and Sanae Cassell. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Bessie Crenshaw, a nephew and two nieces.

A Celebration of Elizabeth's Life will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
